CONGRATULATIONS TO CT. COMPTON #942 - 100 YEARS: 1925-2025
98th Court Compton #942 Anniversary luncheon
Saturday, March 25, 2023
A letter from our CA State Regent:
March 24, 2023
To my Beautiful Sisters from Court Compton. I am so sorry that I, nor anyone from the State Board can attend your anniversary celebration. We had scheduled a Board meeting up north prior to receiving the invite. I am sure without a doubt; you ladies will continue to celebrate in style without us, and with good reason.
It seems like just yesterday we were all celebrating with you at your 95th anniversary only to end our normal lives with a bang. It was just a day or two later when our lives were completely shut down due to the pandemic. While our lives were put on hold, most of our CDA courts had stopped meeting and also completely shut down, many are still struggling to stay alive. Oh, but not Court Compton, not only did you ladies find a way to stay alive, but you continued to grow. The ladies of Court Compton are very special. You find good in everything, and when it was tough to get together, you came together even stronger. Not only did your court grow in membership, but while we were still practicing minimal gatherings, you were able successfully start a JCDA Court. Which by the way, did you know that JCDA is the same age as Court Compton?
Yes, fun fact; JCDA was formed in 1925. Here are a couple of other fun facts from 1925:
In 1925, a film was shown on an airplane for the very first time.
In 1925, "The Great Gatsby" was published.
In 1925, the Mount Rushmore Monument was proposed.
In 1925, the first female US Governor was elected.
In 1925, the first all-female Supreme Court was appointed.
In addition, of course in 1925 the great Court Compton was installed.
It is no wonder why one of CDA's greatest courts was established in such a monumental year. I look forward to celebrating 100 years of Court Compton in person a couple of years from now. It will be here before we all know it.
May God bless all you lovely ladies with a beautiful celebration and another 98 years of success!
Yours Truly,
Mary Beasley
