REGENT'S APRIL MESSAGE
My Sisters in Christ,
We are approaching Palm Sunday and Holy Week. This is one of the most important times in the Catholic faith. Palm Sunday, the Jewish people cheered Jesus’s entrance
into the city by throwing palms in the street before him as he rode on the back of an ass. The day afterwards, Jesus cleared out the temple with a whip. Holy Thursday, Jesus
took bread, broke it and gave it to his disciples, and said, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took the up, gave thanks, and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.” This is blood of the covenant, which for many for the forgiveness of sins. (Matthew 26:26-28 NLV)
Christ also washed the feet of the apostles and directed them to forth and do likewise. As they were not here to be served but to serve others. That evening, Jesus was betrayed by Judas and handed over o the Pharisees. Good Friday, Jesus was tortured and placed on the cross, where he died so that our sins would be forgiven. He descended into hell and arose from the dead on Easter Sunday.
Let us take time to reflect on this and how it has affected our daily lives as Christians. How we as Christians are his disciples. We should serve others as Jesus served others.
May you all have a blessed and Happy Easter
Bonita Carter, Regent
